ShareProof Privacy
Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 11, 2026
ShareProof helps creators see where their content travels, measure impact, and manage attribution. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and how connected platforms such as Pinterest are handled.
This policy applies to ShareProof websites, mobile apps, creator dashboards, connected-platform features, and related services.
1. Information we collect
- Account details: name, email address, login method, creator profile details, selected niches, and account preferences.
- Content you choose to upload: photos, videos, file names, file metadata, generated fingerprints or digital markers, and related tracking records.
- Connected platform data: when you connect Pinterest or another platform, we collect the access tokens, refresh tokens, account identifiers, connection status, and user-selected content references needed to provide ShareProof features. When platform policies require fresh API data, we request it from the platform each time instead of storing a separate copy.
- Usage and device data: app events, pages viewed, feature usage, diagnostics, device type, browser, approximate location derived from IP address, and security logs.
- Billing data: subscription status and payment records processed by Stripe. ShareProof does not store full payment card numbers.
2. How we use information
- To let you upload media, digitally mark or fingerprint it, and trace where that content travels online.
- To show attribution, reach, saves, reposts, engagement, and other creator-impact insights.
- To help you request credit, approve usage, track usage only, license usage, or request a takedown when you choose to do so.
- To operate connected platform features, including Pinterest OAuth, Pinterest account checks, user-authorized content lookup, content matching, and analytics retrieval for your own account.
- To send product emails, weekly digests, alerts, push notifications, security messages, and support responses.
- To improve product quality, detect abuse, prevent fraud, debug errors, and comply with legal obligations.
3. Pinterest API and OAuth data
- ShareProof only connects to Pinterest after you intentionally authorize access through Pinterest's OAuth flow. We do not ask for, collect, or store your Pinterest password.
- Pinterest tokens are used only to provide the features you request, such as identifying your Pinterest account, retrieving authorized Pinterest information for your account, and helping you understand where your content appears.
- ShareProof does not store Pinterest API information unless it is necessary to maintain your account connection, show information back to you, comply with law, or support a user-requested action. Where Pinterest requires fresh API access, ShareProof calls the Pinterest API each time the information is needed.
- ShareProof does not sell Pinterest data. We do not use Pinterest data for unrelated advertising, data brokerage, or profiling outside the ShareProof creator-impact experience.
- ShareProof does not post Pins, edit boards, send messages, or make changes to your Pinterest account unless a feature clearly asks for your permission before taking that action.
- You can disconnect Pinterest in ShareProof settings or revoke ShareProof from your Pinterest account settings. After disconnection, we stop making new Pinterest API requests for your account and delete stored tokens within a commercially reasonable period.
4. How we share information
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We share information with service providers that help us operate ShareProof, including Supabase for hosting and database services, Stripe for payments, SendGrid for email, PostHog for product analytics, Sentry for error monitoring, Expo for push notifications, and n8n for workflow automation.
- We may share limited information when you ask us to send a credit request, licensing request, or takedown request. For example, a credit request may include the content URL, your creator name, and the attribution you want added.
- We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, security investigations, or to protect the rights, safety, and integrity of ShareProof, our users, or others.
5. Data retention
- We keep account data while your account is active.
- We keep uploaded content, fingerprints, platform records, and tracking history for as long as needed to provide your content journey, attribution, evidence, and impact reports.
- If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize personal data unless we must keep limited records for legal, security, payment, fraud-prevention, or compliance reasons.
- OAuth access tokens and refresh tokens are deleted after you disconnect the platform or delete your account, subject to reasonable backup and security-retention windows.
6. Your choices and rights
- You can access, update, export, or delete certain account information inside the app.
- You can disconnect Pinterest and other connected platforms at any time.
- You can opt out of non-essential emails using the unsubscribe link or by contacting us.
- Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, or restriction of your personal information.
- To make a privacy request, email hello@shareproof.app.
7. Security
- We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect your information, including encrypted transport, access controls, row-level security, service-role separation, and secure secret storage.
- No system is perfectly secure. If we learn of a security incident affecting your information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
8. Children
- ShareProof is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
9. International users
- ShareProof is operated from the United States. If you use ShareProof from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate.
10. Changes to this policy
- We may update this Privacy Policy as ShareProof changes. If changes are material, we will provide notice through the app, website, or email when appropriate.
